Congratulations on receiving your first Type Rating! A commonly issued and under-explained part of this process is the issuance of a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) Limitation.
You will know this has been applied to your license by the statement on the back:
That's OK — this is a very simple process to remove.
IAW 14 CFR 61.64(g)(2) — log 25 hours as PIC under the supervision of a qualified PIC. This will likely be done with you sitting in the right seat of the aircraft you are rated in. Have the supervising PIC sign your company-provided form and present it at the time of removal.
If you do not have a company form for this action, you can use the form below.
Use this form if your employer does not provide one. You do not need to fit all 25 hours on a single form — print as many copies as needed and log each flight session separately. Present all completed copies together at the time of SOE removal once you have reached 25 total PIC hours.
Print a blank copy before each flight or batch of flights. Have the supervising PIC sign each sheet. Bring all signed sheets when you're ready to remove the SOE limitation.
